Why people ask for a second opinion
A second opinion is an ordinary part of cancer care, and people ask for one for different reasons. To understand the thinking behind a recommendation. To know whether anything else has been considered. Or to have conventional and integrative perspectives looked at together, rather than in separate conversations.
That last one is what this service is built around. Our Multidisciplinary Team, conventional oncology and integrative medicine specialists, reads the same file at the same time. What comes back is one written document, not two separate views.
Conventional oncology and integrative medicine, reviewed together, delivered in 5 working days from receipt of your records.
One coordinated review. One clear roadmap.

Questions we hear most often
Will this replace my current oncologist?
No, this service is designed to complement your existing care, not replace it. Our MDT Second Opinion gives you and your treating team a clearer, more complete picture of your options. The plan is yours to share with your oncologist and act on together.
Do I need a referral to access this service?
No referral is required. You can contact us directly to register your interest, and our team will guide you through the next steps. We work with adult patients and their supporting family members across the UK, South Africa, and internationally.
Is the MDT Second Opinion service available for patients under 18?
No. The MDT Second Opinion service is available for adult patients aged 18 and over only. For paediatric cancer cases, we recommend consulting a specialist paediatric oncology service. If a family member is enquiring on behalf of an adult patient, please indicate this in your submission.
What records do I need to provide?
We typically ask for your medical history, relevant pathology reports, scans and imaging you already hold, and details of your current or planned treatment. Our team will send you a full checklist once your enquiry is received to make the process as straightforward as possible.
How long does it take?
Typically 5 working days from receipt of your complete records for the Case Review tier. Online Consultation bookings are scheduled on a priority basis. We'll confirm your specific timeline when you enquire.
How is my data handled?
Your medical records and personal information are handled in accordance with UK GDPR and POPIA. Enquiry data submitted through this form is stored in our secure customer management system. Medical records shared for your case review are uploaded to and stored on Sanctura's private, EU-hosted secure patient portal — a separate system accessible only to your assigned clinical team. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
How do I pay?
Payment is taken up front once your case is accepted and the process is confirmed. Our team will provide payment details during the enquiry process. Please contact us for current pricing.
Can I cancel?
Yes. You have 14 days to cancel from the date your case is accepted and payment is made. If you ask us to begin sooner so we can meet the 5-working-day turnaround, we'll ask you to confirm that. Once your review has been fully delivered, the right to cancel ends. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions.
